On the Road Again

Last night was hellish! Conner would not sleep. I think that we got a total of about 3-4 hours of sleep. We had to get up early this morning so we could head out on the road to Orlando. We left the house by 6:40am. On our way up to Orlando we stopped in Bartow at Perkins for breakfast. We checked into our hotel by 11:00am. This trip we booked a room at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. My friends Laurie and Mark were staying there with their two children Murphy and Anders. It was great to meet up with them there. The last time I saw Laurie, Mark and Murphy was in June of 2007 before Anders, Conner and Shannen were born.

While we waited for our room to be ready the kids played on playground and we walked around the grounds of the hotel checking out all of the animals. The pool was being refurbished which was fine with us since the temperatures were no where near swimming weather. James asked continuously when he could see Mickey Mouse. We met up with the Potters and headed to Downtown Disney for dinner at the T-Rex restaurant. James kept saying that the dinosaurs were scary. We made it through dinner with Jimmy trailing behind Conner throughout the restaurant while we waited for food.

After dinner, Laurie, Murphy, Shannen and I hit up a store so Murphy could get a birthday present for one of her friends back in MA. Jimmy, Mark, Anders, James and Conner went to Goofy's Candy Co. to pick up Jimmy's favorite Jelly Belly jelly beans.

When we got back to the hotel, the guys went for some drinks while we took the kids to the playground to burn off some energy.
