The Early Steps Team was here at 8:30 this morning to conduct an in depth evaluation of Conner to see if he qualifies for services. After having Conner complete tasks and asking me questions. It was determined that there was a need for services in the area of communication. A service plan was written which allows him to receive a weekly visit from an ITDS (Infant/Toddler Developmental Specialist), to attend organized playgroups in the community, and they referred him to have a speech evaluation to see if there are any oral motor issues we should address. The speech evaluation is scheduled for the beginning of September. We will attend a community playgroup the last week of August and I will be calling Monday to schedule an ITDS to visit Coner here at the house. Once the speech evaluation is completed we will have another meeting to review the outcome and adjust his plan if it is needed.
